Community Engagement and Inclusion Services

Reducing the stigma and isolation of mental ill health

Ambient’s Community Engagement & Inclusion Services add fulfilment, connection and creativity to people’s lives, helping to reduce the stigma and isolation of mental ill health.

The projects are an incredibly important part of our offering, and allow people to participate in meaningful and enjoyable activities, often together with friends and family, to boost confidence and to help build social and support networks.

Current projects are:

Credo – The Ambient Creative Arts Project

A creative arts project that allows people to explore their potential and creativity the medium of ceramics.

Branching Out – The Ambient Horticultural Project

A horticulture project that supports wellbeing by involving people in the delivery of gardening services across South East London.  Volunteers learn gardening and horticulture skills, which can assist them in returning to work or gaining future employment.

People who take part in our Community Engagement & Inclusion projects can expect to:

  • Learn new skills and access training opportunities where appropriate.
  • Build social networks and decrease feeling of social isolation.
  • Have their voice heard and help to shape and plan the delivery of Ambient’s mental health services.
  • Gain support to join, or even start, a service user-led group.
