The advent of the COVID pandemic saw an- end to life as normal for all of us across the country, with usual activities on hold. So, Ambient staff at one of our residential homes in Tottenham went above and beyond to keep spirits lifted with an inspired 80’s Disco! The team at Meridian Walk in Tottenham worked creatively, within COVID guidelines -, to throw a mood-boosting 80’s themed disco complete with 80s costumes, decorations and music.Pauline Modeste, Team Leader at Meridian Walk, says: “The disco was hugely memorable for us all, the 80’s music was a great hit and everyone was dancing and laughing at the clothing and accessories. Our handmade decorations made for a vibrant setting and mood alike- it was a brilliant event that allowed those living in the service to immerse themselves in another decade for the day. A bit of imagination goes a very long way.”Tom Harrison, Director of Operations at Ambient, said:“We’re extremely proud of our caring hero’s, who continue to go the extra mile in these extreme times of need, consistently going above and beyond to ensure people that use our services are living as fulfilling lives as possible. This goes way beyond basic care and is based on creating happiness, laughter and memories even in the midst of a pandemic! Tom continued, “Despite challenges and ever-changing guidelines, our staff keep those that they support safe, and engaged. The 80’s disco is a prime example of our staff living by ‘The Ambient Way’, personalising support and being exceptional in what they would simply call their ‘day to day’.”Visit Ambient Support on Facebook for more stories of what we’re up to.To talk to us about what you need and how we can help, please get in touch. 020 8502 3933 hello@ambient.org.uk
