How Ambient celebrated VE Day’s 75th Anniversary

On Friday 8th May, across our services, Ambient staff came together to organise incredible VE Day parties and activities for our service users.

This year was the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, a celebration to mark the Allied victory in Europe in 1945. Even in the current climate of Coronavirus, our service users were able to enjoy some pretty impressive VE Day celebrations, from bunting to bowl hats and biscuits & tea.

The sun was shining on the day, so whether indoors with windows wide open, or sat in the garden for a tea party, VE Day this year picked a perfect Spring day. Our service users and staff alike made the most of the celebrations with fantastic decorations and displays, and of course props and outfits to boot.

Tenants at a service in Norfolk proudly sat with their window display!

As always, out staff have been extraordinary, and made this VE Day a ball for our service users. Despite all of the challenges we are facing right now, our team and the people we support have created memories of a special day that we will be able to look back on with joy.
