Apprenticeships are not just for school leavers.

Formal qualification in Social Care are now taken through the Apprentice Levy, introduced by the Government in 2017.

Apprenticeships are available to any of our staff aged 18+ with no upper age limit.

It means you can combine practical training and study on the
job – gaining qualifications at the same time as earning a living.

You can find out more about what becoming an apprentice means by visiting the GOV.uk website.

With Ambient’s development pathways this could be the start of an amazing career with us.

Ambient recognises that to be the best, we need to offer the best in career development.

We have developed a series of development pathways which allow our staff to focus on their chosen area of expertise, whether they join us in their first role in care or further on in their Social Care career.

These pathways have been developed across all of our service portfolios and aim to help members of our team reach their desired career goals as quickly as they are able. For example, someone starting out in Social Care as a care worker at the beginning of their career with us, could become a fully qualified care home manager in just five short years.

Use the link below to check out our development pathways and see where your career journey could take you.

At Ambient, we recognise that all our staff are individuals with different goals and aspirations.

Whether you want to progress within the charity, or become a specialist and excel in your chosen role, we are proud to promote an environment that values development, diversity and growth opportunities for all our employees, as well as the people we support.

We offer innovative training and development opportunities for every member of our team, designed to enrich their working experience. These range from statutory training to meet the Quality Care Commission (CQC) requirements, to continuous professional development opportunities for all staff wishing to undertake accredited Social Care qualifications.

Ambient employs specialist trainers for each of our service portfolios: Learning Disabilities, Older People and Mental Health. Our trainers deliver inspirational, classroom-based workshops and offer coaching and support to our staff at the services they work in.

Staff development is also undertaken via our eLearning platform. The 63 online courses we offer are informative, fun and enable staff to learn at their own pace.
